First let me say... finally some good Mexican food. And may I also say; Finally a Mexican restaurant that doesn't confuse Tex-Mex with Mexican... Don't get me wrong, I love my Tex-Mex, but the two are different, and this 30 somethin' year (makes me sound younger) old Mexican kid from San Jose California needs his old school Mexican food, not confused for Tex-Mex, every so often. And let me tell you, Los Reyes delivered. Was a perfect setting for my family and I (wife and 3 1/2 yr old twins). The staff was attentive. The place is clean. Noise enough to drown out my kids, but not too loud where we couldn't talk. The kids loved the food, and let me tell you, that's all the merit you need. Because their standard is typically Mac-n-cheese, chicken strips, and a playscape. The fact they loved it because of the food and the food alone earns Los Reyes 4 stars. The carne asada was almost as great Los Garcias back home. The Bruce and beans were solid, and all home made. Have to say, too many Mexican restaurants here in Austin serve canned beans. C'mon mannnn.... That will instantly take you down to a 1 star rating, with a steep up hill battle after that. You'd better have an awesome micholada at that point. Speaking of which, the micholadas were good, only thing missing was the tajin with chili powder. Chips were nice and warm, and the salsa was above par. All in all, it was a great family type Mexican restaurant, similar to those I grew up going to back home. Nothing fancy, just some solid Mexican food that leaves going home as satisfied as watching the U.S. Men's soccer team. It's great, tons of fun, definitely leave satisfied, but no championship. But, you will be coming back for more....

SO SHINES A GOOD DEED!!! So the service started out a little slow, but things picked right up and the food was really good, and the manager was really nice. My battery died while I was inside, and the manager asked around inside the restaurant, and two patrons came out and helped me jump my car off. I offered to pay for their meals for their kindness, but they refused. This place obviously attracts high quality individuals! Thanks for the great food, and for getting me back on the road!

Breakfast review. I went to Seizure Park (Cedar Park) to have breakfast at one of my old haunts, Jardin Corona. I forgot they weren't open for weekday breakfast. Their loss, says I. I ventured on down the road. I remembered a Tex-Mex place in the strip with Popeye's, but, couldn't remember it's name, or if they even did breakfast. Luckily Los Reyes was indeed open for breakfast. Yay! It was a rainy sad morning and I needed some coffee and food to help comfort my sad heart from the passing of the last great bluesman, Mr. Riley (Blues Boy) King. AKA BB King. RIP my dear man. The coffee was hot and fresh. I did indeed enjoy it. I ended up having like four cups! They had some breakfast specials posted on a white board by the entrance. Nothing really screamed "Do Me!". I asked for the menu. Man! They have every version of Migas you can imagine! Migas with chorizo, bacon, chicharones, ham, etc. The only offering of Migas they didn't have was with Spam. Migas wasn't exciting me this morning so I looked at the Huevos options. Same crazy shit. Huevos with everything except Spam! JFC did someone smoke a good one before making up this menu? I've never seen so many breakfast options. Even had some gringo plates! I went with one of my all time favorites, Huevos a la Mexicana! I also ordered a side of bacon. They forgot the bacon. Damnit! I told my waiter and he apologized and offered to have the kitchen make me some. "No thanks" said I. "By the time it arrives, I will be finished with my food. Next time". Ok, ok, ok. How was the breakfast? Freaking good! The re-fried beans were average, but, not pureed into a paste like a lot of places do. The potatoes were some of the best I've ever had in a Tex-Mex joint. They were cut small and fried nicely. I would have liked a little more crisp, but, hey I ain't gonna complain because they were fresh and tasty. Not dry and bland like most places do them. The Huevos a la Mexicana rocked it! Eggs were nice and yellow (not brown) and the fresh onions and jalapenos balanced very well. Every bite was delicious! The salsa was fresh made with a nice kick, but, too much tomato base. You know that taste of tomato juice that just overwhelms all the other flavors? I wasn't impressed with the salsa. My breakfast was impressive. Very good. The plate was $7. I could definitely find cheaper deals, but, the quality was there, so I'm not complaining. I don't mind spending a few bucks more for quality. These guys delivered. Not the cheapest deals around, but, if you want to sit and enjoy a really good cup of joe with some good breakfast, this is your place. I will even go one step further and say it's the best Tex-Mex breakfast in Seizure Park! If only they didn't forget my bacon. :(

This is definitely our go to mexican food for Cedar Park. One of my biggest complaints is that their menu is huge! It takes me forever to decide what I want. The only thing that I have gotten here that I did not like much was their queso... which is a bummer because I LOVE queso. On the same note, it's been a while since I tried it, so maybe it's better now. My husband does not like rice... unless it's covered in some thick sauce. Weird... I know! But, Los Reyes rice is the exception to his rule. He loves their rice. Their charro beans are full of bacon, and of course bacon makes everything better! The wait staff is always very kind. I never have a complaint about service. My son was watching the waiter make some cocktails once and he was pointing out the cherries. The waiter grabbed a bowl and gave him a handful of cherries to eat. He was so excited!

Our second, and not last by a long shot, visit to Los Reyes, was just as good as the first. My wife had the lunch plate with two soft tacos made on awesome home made tortillas of the flour variety, she picked one carne guisada and one ground beef, her plate and mine both came with rice and refried beans...all good. I ingested a two carne guisada enchilada plate, and most of my wife's carne guisada taco, the carne had lots of flavor and some good heat spice wise. They brought us some chips, and some red salsa and a small bowl of queso with hamburger in it, we enjoyed everything that hit our table, and if it did actually hit the table...the 5 second rule was invoked...repeatedly. Great service to match the quality of the Tex Mex cuisine. We've tried the Texican Cafe and Los Reyes and Dos Salsas in Cedar Park several times, and the hands down, no contest winner for us is Los Reyes.

I will start by saying that we came here for the first time for Mother's Day with three under 5 rambunctious and hungry kids. Rich our sever / bartender quickly put them at ease by being engaged and having a good attitude (even though they were being very active). The children's food came out so fast that we couldn't believe it! They had bean and cheese burritos and quesadillas. They immediately ate and calmed down so my husband and I could enjoy our delicious Margarita and Mexican martini !!!! I ordered the "camarones a la playa" ( shrimp plate ) it was so very good !!!! The shrimp tasted fresh and just like home made. My husband ( picky eater ) ordered the green chili enchiladas and they were equally delicious !! My husband asked Rich about what was in our drinks and he brought the recipe from the bar and told us exactly ;) then we had the tres leches cake, and it was also super tasty! (I make a mean one and I am South American so I have high standards) . This will be our first choice for Mex from now on! We have been on a quest for great food , great drinks and great service and this is it ! Recommended !

Solid 4.5 stars. Came here the first time by recommendation from a local establishment when I was looking for breakfast... Food was amazing (biggest freaking breakfast tacos I have ever seen!!) but I had the meat plate... Second time - again breakfast tacos for everyone (with some to go home) Third time (2 days later) - Dinner. Very good and not expensive. Only drawback, they are not that close to home. But I will be back (and bringing the parents next time)

Nice staff but the food was not very good. Too greasy and too much cheese instead of flavor.

I came in wanting compare the fish tacos that I love at El jardin... sad. Nothing comparable. No worries though, I got the gringo plate. Ground beef stuffed pepper and chicken enchilada. The first thing I always try at any mexican place is the beans and rice. (If you can't make beans and rice right, you're not mexican!) They passed. The flavors were great throughout. Ground beef filling was my favorite. The server recommended the presidente brandy Margarita. Best Margarita I've had in a long time. (I loved that extra shot of brandy, totally kicked it up a notch). Down side was the queso. If we didn't get it for free for checking in I would be pissed! Also the blaring country music was completely unnecessary.

We finally went back to try their dinner menu and were not disappointed. First off hot chips and fresh salsa are brought out immediately and never get empty, they have someone walking around just to refill chips and salsa which I think is awesome! Second I got a sangria frozen margarita and it was the best I have had and it was as big as a child's face! I ordered nachos forget the name but they came loaded with beans, queso flameado, jalapeños, quac, sour cream and very tender beef fajita. They were outstanding! Hubs ordered a chimichanga and had no complaints. There portions are very generous and for a family of five to leave for around $45 including a tall beer and huge margarita is a great price. This will be our go to Mexican food in the cedar park area. Also service is always great!

Okay... I am going to give this 4 stars. Let me explain. I ordered enchiladas. I cant remember which ones. But they were Cheese Enchiladas. Alright, So i was expecting 1000 Calories worth of cheese. When the plate arrived, i was like "Alright, The cheese must be stuffed on the inside because i dont see any." I was wrong. Like no cheese. It was sooo dry! There was like feta cheese in there. Very little, to make it worse. My fiance's Burrito arrives.... WHAT?.... Thats my enchilada... I think? Nope its his burrito.... But it was more of an enchilada than my own. His burrito was DRENCHED in cheesy greatness, and stuffed with carni guisada! It tasted like mexico made fiesta in my mouth. Just sayin. So we visited again a few weeks later. This time i knew i was going to get the burrito! I ordered it, and almost finished the WHOLE thing! (By the way, Im a small girl, and this plate was HUGE). I LOVED EVERY BITE. Now my fiance and i go all the time. Just make sure you research what you want first!

First time here with my wife. Couldn't decide on what to get so I went with the combination pick any two or three items so I could sample more variety. I got a chicken enchilada, a cheese enchilada, and a crispy taco. It came with choice of refried beans or charro and rice. They were all really good, but the cheese enchilada was the best in my opinion. Also got a free queso for checking in, but I was'nt very keen on it. Overall I would come back. Friendly Staff and country music if your into that. Lol

My review is for their breakfast since this is all we ever eat here. Their breakfast is the best Mexican food breakfast we've had. We have tried others, but we always keep coming back to Los Reyes because it's just that good. Try their Migas they are delicious! Service is also always excellent here at breakfast. They are always very attentive and polite. We will continue to keep coming here.

We were driving back into town and needed Mexican food STAT! We live way down south, so used Yelp to help us find this place since we couldn't wait any longer to eat. It looked a little interesting from the outside but was fresh and delicious! We enjoyed everything we had and would definitely go back if it was closer to us.

Went there on 1/2/15 and was not impressed at all. Had the burrito Del Valle which was fine but as we entered and were about to sit down the ceiling was leaking on the back of my neck. Then we asked to change the hard taco on the kids menu to a soft shell flour tortilla and was told that would cost a dollar extra. They charged me for a regular drink for my three year old, which would be fine if it wasn't 2.50 and he didn't drink even half of it. The first basket of tortilla chips had stale chips in it as well. The staff was attentive and the food was ok tasting. Otherwise, I would've given this place one star. The prices are not cheap and you would expect upper class tasting food for the price. There are too many Mexican food places in the area to have a reason to return.

First gut feeling should have been trusted. It was more than a bit after 5pm and no one was there. Granted it did pick up after a while, but not a good sign to be the first one there after 5pm on a popular eat-out night. Food was mediocre at best. My friend's rice tasted fishy (and she had ordered the cheese enchiladas). Service was awful. No checking in to see how the food was. No refill on chips offered. Our drinks were only refilled after we'd finished the meal and had been sitting there trying to catch the waiter's eye to get our check. We tried it and won't be going back. Except maybe to use their restroom--it was the cleanest we'd seen in a public place!

First time here, seated and service was fast, server Jose, was doing his job well. Never ran out of chips or drinks. The food was good but didnt seem to have a lot of spices, but was still good... The cheese dip was ok, have had better. The adult drinks were awesome.. This place overall satisfied me tonight.. We got out under $70 bucks tip and all... We will be back, and i will try the shrimp and chicken plate. My partner got that and he loved it... Thanks Jose for a job well done!!!!!

My family used to frequent Los Reyes once a month, however after the episode today, this was our last visit. I didn't complain about the 1.99 charged for a side of sour cream, what I found exorbitant was .45 for a single flour tortilla. YES! .45 for a single four tortilla, which should have been provided with the fajita plate... Nonetheless, I digress.... I asked the waiter why the charge for the single flour tortilla and he conferenced with the manager. Then, according to the manager, the waiter had undercharged for our margaritas, the quote was $7.95 therefore we were then billed $9.95. The waiter explained that since we asked about the tortilla charge, the manager decided to charge extra for the margaritas (and not charge for the single tortilla). I explained to the manager the margin generated on drinks and deserts alone should negate any menial charge for tortillas (especially one), but he still insisted the $9.95 charge was the normal charge for margaritas. Soooo, their net was an extra $4.00 out of this customer, but it cost them a semi-regular. I'll upload the pictures of the quoted, hand-written check and the final bill. If you choose to visit this restaurant, please check your bill...you may be surprised that what you were told is not what was actually charged.

We went for lunch and the restaurant is dirty and smells like dirty dishwater. The food was subpar as well. For what we got it was overpriced. Definitely won't be back.

First visit Friday night 7:30 pm. It was busy but not overrun and we were seated immediately.Server delivered fresh salsa, chips and menus. Is it hot in here? My always cool wife confirmed that it was. Perused the menu and was surprised by the prices. That's ok I thought if the food measures up no prob. I had read a couple of reviews touting the carnitas so I decided to give them a whirl. The Mrs. tried the tamale and taco combo.I ordered a Modelo michelada, the wife had water. Los Reyes is offering a free small queso when you check in with Yelp. The waiter had to inspect my phone several minutes before he agreed to bring the queso. It was almost awkward but he returned smiling with the dish. The michelada was brought and we started to chow on the chips salsa and queso. Salsa we'll give B+ for freshness but not much cilantro or heat. The Queso was a B- but again needed some heat. The michelada was just Ok too. The food seemed like it took a bit longer than it should but the Texas Rangers were on and we chatted and kept an eye tuned to the TV as the Rangers were actually beating the As. Our plates arrived and the portions were large. The carnitas were very good but not exceptional. The set up was a two scoops of fresh pico de gallo, one large scoop of guac and a heap of jalapenos. I should of asked for cilantro and onions but my waiter had disappeared into the night. Two huge flour tortillas were grilled almost crisp. The rice and beans were standard fare, nothing exceptional but nothing to whine about. The wife said as much about her meal remarking the tamale was a bit heavy on the masa to filling ratio but very tasty. While we were waiting, the table next to me was enjoying a huge bowl of soup so I excused myself for interrupting and asked what kind of soup is that and what do you think of it.The diner was very engaging and said it was chicken tortilla and it was what he got every time he came to Los Reyes. His wife had the carne guisada and was effusive in her praise of the dish. The air conditioner finally kicked on when the waiter returned with our check for $21.93 for both of us. I left a 15% tip. We might try Los Reyes again but maybe in the fall when it is cooler and it's soup and stew weather.

I'm new to the area, but I live close by Los Reyes in Cedar Park. At first glance, I was a little hesitant, but I left rather impressed. The chips and salsa were second to none, as the chips were warm and crispy. The deluxe queso is amazing, but even the large is a little small. The service was incredible, as they attended to us every minute. The food was fabulous, but the time it took was a bit long.

A friend and I met for lunch on Friday. Business was pretty slow and the service was slow also. I really wasn't expecting much, considering its location in a run down strip mall behind Popeyes. You really get a lot of food for your money here. I think the lunch specials are $5.95 for a generous helping of Tex Mex. The salsa here was watery and lacked heat and flavor. The food itself was hit or miss. I had the carnitas and and barbacoa corn tacos plate. The plate was pretty simple, two tacos and a side of rice and refried beans. The rice was Ok and I wasn't a fan of the beans. The tacos were generously filled will meat. The carnitas was pretty good, but the barbacoa was not. The barbacoa had the nice crisp texture, but lacked salt. I think with a nice helping of pico de gallo, the barbacoa could be much better. My friend ordered the tortilla soup. The soup bowl was huge, but was made up of mostly bland broth. There was very little chicken and lots of onions and soggy tortillas in the soup. The soup didn't come with any sides. This food here is OK for the price. I think there are better options nearby, both in flavor and ambience.

Best Mexican food in Cedar Park, hands down! We've been big fans of Jardin Corona and then when it started getting too crowded we moved over to Chiliquilles, which is ok. Never even tried Los Reyes because it is hiding in the corner of run down strip mall and doesn't look like anything you'd want to visit. It is now our new favorite hole in the wall! The food is fabulous, the waiters are super friendly. Love the salsa, my hubby adores the spanish rice. The carnitas are pure heaven. Prices are very good. They don't skimp on the alcohol either. Once Mexican martini and I was floating out of there.

We used to love this place, but the last two times we have been there, the service has been really bad. We went there this evening and we're served an almost empty bowl ofsalsa, like they took it off of someone eelse's table, we ordered drinks and queso, (this has happened on the last two trips) queso never came, we pointed out the half bowl of Salsa, with no results, we decided to leave, won't be going back.

I had excellent Huevos a la Mexicana this morning with REAL frijoles refritos. Service was indifferent but competent. I will give Los Reyes a try for lunch or dinner when next in the area.

Great place tucked away in a little strip mall. I have not found an item on the menu that I wouldn't eat again and again. Each time I go I order one of the daily specials or branch out for something new on the menu. I also love their breakfast on the weekends. Always great service, great food, and reasonably priced for the area. Would definitely recommend!

I have always told hubby he could just cook me a bean for dinner and I'd be happy. I'm not a bad cook and I do sometimes enjoy it, but mostly I'm lazy in the kitchen and would prefer to have it done for me. So when hubby called and said he'd ordered too much food for lunch at Los Reyes and was bringin home some tacos, I was happy and relieved I wouldn't have to get back out in that crappy cold rain and go to the store. Hubby had ordered the pork taco plate and a bowl of tortilla soup. The soup, he said, was huge and filling enough for a meal (have you seen my big man?? that's some soup!), so he brought home the taco plate and ordered two more tacos extra. Have to admit. I took one look at them, pre-nuking and I didn't expect much. The tacos were just pork carnitas on a homemade tortilla. No veggies, no cheese, nada. They did send us with little tubs of their salsa which I added and I sprinkled on some of my own pre-shredded cheddar. Have you ever had a taco go straight to your uterus?? Me either! Usually I get that feeling from good wine or savory chocolate. But this taco made me all warm and fuzzy inside, made me squirm on the couch, doin the good food dance. I was shocked at how flavorful and tender and juicy (dare I say, wet??) the meat was. And the tortillas were chewy and yeasty...oh so good! No wonder they don't dress it up too much, it would be overkill (altho just a bit of pico woulda made it complete). Los Reyes. Keepin it real. Keepin it simple. Keepin me satisfied!

We have tried this one several times. Food is average to good. Service is generally pretty bad. Not a great place, but okay. They gave us a hard time once about using an Entertainment book coupon, but eventually accepted when I protested. Meh. It will do on occasion but not the best.

Went there on a Groupon- will NEVER return!!! This is about the close one can get food poison in Austin/Cedar Park area. The food was cold, sour and just plain awful. They cater to Mexicans. I don't see how they stay in business. It is dirty, smelly, cold and dark inside. Prices are not that great. We all had upset stomachs that night and the whole next day. Service was very rude as well. What a disgrace to to Cedar Park.

I live in Austin and whenever I am in Cedar Park I look forward to getting Tex-Mex at Los Reyes. After about a dozen visits I can say that Los Reyes is one of the finset Tex Mex peateries in the area. The restaurant has always been clen and the waistaff helpful if not always the quickest. I am looking forward to returning as soon as I am in Cedar Park again.

One star for a frosty mug with salt on the rim for my beer, which ended up with a yummy slushy-like concoction. another for a really good cheese enchilada. Chicken fajita nachos: chicken tasted boiled, not fajita seasoned. instead of covered with melted cheese, they dumped queso on top. AND was cold. Disgusting and just a thrown together bunch of slop. I asked her to reheat it and they heated the whole plate--guac and sour cream and all--was like a lump of melting ice cream. Gross. Chile Relleno: OK. Beef was seasoned well. Nothing to write home about, though. Mom got the potato chile relleno, NO seasoning whatsoever. Beans ok, rice ok... homemade flour tortillas.... eh. go to Chuy's for your homemade flour tortilla cravings. Needless to say, I will not be back. 2 stars is generous.

When I pulled into the parking lot, I could barely find a place to park and their was only one seat left which I got.....;-) I was greeted quickly & with a friendly attitude. The menu is clean, neat, organized and presented well. There is a large selection of food and priced reasonable. Chips and salsa were fresh and the salsa has a little kick to it....;-) They were fast at busing and cleaning the tables so those that were waiting didn't have to wait long. It took roughly about 20mins for my food to be brought out (I order the 2 beef enchiladas with double beans) which by the way were really running, and since they don't give you tortillas, I had to scoop it up with chips. Food was hot and fresh when brought out.

Taco Salad (Beef): Shell was tasteful and crispy, but that was about all that was memorable. Hardly any cheese or tomatoes in it and meat was well drained, tasteless hamburger. Even with some guacamole and sour cream mixed in... have had much better elsewhere. Cheese Enchiladas: Couldn't identify the bland cheese in the enchiladas, but it was yellow-ish. Mexican girlfriend did not finish them. Sides: Rice was below par, refried beans were just ok, hot chips a requirement, but red salsa was nothing to write home about. Service: Fine on a quiet weekend afternoon. A Tex-Mex fan but first time at Los Reyes... I know I could have tried what other reviewers liked, but I always start with basics to see what kind of foundation they build on. Nothing on the "WOW Factor" meter here.

Take this review with a grain of salt, as I am NOT a fan of Tex-Mex food. To me it is too hot and heavy. Now I am a normal woman who does enjoy getting hot and heavy but not when it comes to Tex-Mex. I suggested this local restaurant because BF likes Tex-mex. I do not want to be the one to deprive him. It is located in a little strip mall in the corner. Definitely not much to look at on the exterier, after walking in WOW, this place has a lot of inside space. We were seated promptyly and the waiter arrived quickly. We order some beers. He also brings out chips and salsa while we wait for the drinks. Without thinking, I grab a chip and nibble on it. Another pleasant surprize, the chip was warm, crispy, and tasted good too. I take another chip and dip it in the salsa. Within seconds of eating it, my mouth is burning. BF agrees that the salsa was HOT! The waiter had just come back with our beers. I start guzzling my beer to cool my mouth. So I stick to chips without salsa. BF orderes the Chile Relleno with beef and I go with the Mixed Fajitas. The waiter brings out my charro beans like it was an appetitizer. No heat in this bowl, but then again not much flavor either. When the Chile Relleno is brought to the tables, BF comments that he thought it was supposed to be fried in batter. It wasn't. I steal a forkful of the filling and it wasn't bad. I prep my first fajita with a couple each of chicken and beef strips. I layer it with the grilled onions and one pepper, lettuce and the pico de gallo. Complaint! Why do restaurant put the shredded cheese on top of the lettuce. There are some of us who like the lettuce but not the cheese. End of Gripe. I take my first bite, not bad and it has a little heat. So I dig in. Second bite has a bit more heat but still managable. You know the saying that the Third times the charm. Third bite and Inferno, it feels like I just ate Satan and his minions. I could not feel my tongue and tears were rolling down my face from the heat. I down more beer and that doesn't help. No sour cream to cool the heat, so I dive into the charro beans. That did the trick and relieved the pain. So I make a new wrap without the Pico de gallo, unfortunately at this point I could no longer taste anything. BF had the same experience with his Chile Relleno, after three bites he could no longer taste the food. We decided to try the Sopapillas because the honey sauce might help us get some tastebuds back. When the dessert arrives I notice that they are not puffy but flat. They are also covered in cinnamon sugar with only five drops of honey. We each eat one. Not bad but didn't fill the craving void. The cost was avout $30.00 which to me was a bit high for the Just Okay experience.

LOVE this place. Never too crowded. Good service all the serrvers pay attention to you not just yours. Good drinks and I love the food. Home made tortillas and salsa. The prices are great too. Not expensive and you get a good helping of food. Will continue going here. OH! and it looks like they are updating the place and making it look nice. Im not sure if they still do this but on certain nights there would be a guitar player palying music for tips. Really nice and its not too loud just right. Love this place.

This place is a joke. It was one failure after another. We wanted to stop by to try some nachos before the Texas Stars game. Their menu boasted several different kinds. Our server took our order only for anther server to come back to retake our order because of some miscommunication on their part. I ordered the Chicken Fajita Nachos full order while my girlfriend ordered the Cheese Nachos half order. When the food came out I asked my girlfriend where the rest of her food was? The server handed her a plate with 6 chips and cheese on it. 6 CHIPS for $4.75! You have to be joking me. We got more chips in the free basket we got when we sat down. My order was no better since I only had 12 chips. I asked the waiter why her half order only had 6 chips and he told me that the half order only comes with 6 chips but the full order for $9.95 comes with 12 chips. Once I got passed the pitiful number of chips I saw what a pathetic excuse I was given for chicken. The chicken was bland, warm and completely dry. There is no possible way the chicken on my plate was cooked fresh when I ordered it. It was clearly made earlier that day if I was lucky. I took one bite and asked for the check. The server had the good sense to give me the check with a discount since the food was pathetic. Even so I still feel I over paid for 6 chips and one bite. I will never come to this place again and I strongly urge everyone to run away. There is no common sense on pricing, potion or quality at Los Reyes. $5 for 6 chips with canned cheese, give me a break.

This place is....ok. Nothing bad, but nothing really great either. Been there maybe 5 times (from Restaurant.com promos) and the place is never crowded (hrmmm..). If anything, the food leans towards the boring side. The salsa is weak, and the queso is nothing to brag about.

One of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while. The only way it could get worse is if I got food poisoning. The chips and salsa were bad, the service was slow (even though they weren't busy) and the Fajita salad was terrible. For $10 you would think that they would throw more than 3 ounces of over-cooked fajita meat on it. Oh, and the lettuce was brown. On top of this, they screwed up 2 of the orders, and didn't bring condiments out that we asked for 3 times. The water was tap water, and the tea was diluted too much. NOTHING about the place was good, no decor, no cool vibe, just a shitty little high-margin texmex joint in a strip-mall. Like Ausitn has any shortage of those. If something like this can stay open in Cedar Park , I think they need a Maduie's out there for the prices and quality they charge.

I LOVE their Spanish rice! Just the thought of their Spanish rice keeps me awake at night...pining away for more. I think this is the best Mexican restaurant in the Cedar Park/Leander area. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Also, the service is always consistent and the location is convenient.

I was in Cedar Park at lunch time. I was so starving and didn't see many restaurant choices nearby. So I just walked into this Mexican restaurant although I don't like Mexican food at all because I don't like rice and beans. After I sat down, I realized it's not my type of restaurant at all. It seems most customers are male Caucasians with tanned skin and wearing baseball cap. Is this a baseball cap club? Also they all look like Larry the cable guy to me. So it's odd to see me, Asian woman sitting there. I don't like their lunch special menu which is full of taco and burritos. So I chose to order from dinner menu. I had fajita beef and Monterrey steak. Surprised to me! Both of them taste really good. The service is really good too. The waiter was smile to me the whole time. How often do you have waiters smiling nowadays? Very rare, right?

Decent, not spectacular. Good cheap tex-mex. Both service and food can be spotty. We generally only go here when we don't want to wait in line at the other local tex-mex restaurants.

We ate here after seeing how long the wait was across the street at Jardin Corona... Big mistake. I was so disappointed with the food as a whole that I won't be back. The queso tasted like fake cheese and was cold and goopey. My chicken fajitas were bland and my man's tortilla soup was "just ok" ( his description). Our service was slow and I didn't really care for the super brightly lit interior. Overall, I recommend staying away from here and just going across the street to Jardin Corona - you won't be disappointed there!

Los Reyes used to be our favorite Tex Mex restaurant. The food has really gone down hill. It is very bland. Pace picante sauce is better than the salsa they are serving. I do not understand what has happened, maybe they are trying to cut costs and have stopped buying seasonings like garlic and comino! Key ingredients in Mexican cooking! Very disappointed because we keep giving them a chance, but the last 3 visits have left us upset.

Excellent food. dirty, grubby looking accommodations. Prices seemed a little steep but they had a fantastic variety.

Great food, lots of menu items. I like that, though. Great enchiladas, tacos, chips, and salsa. Chips are served hot. The service is great, too. I've also had their breakfast, and it's good, too. Homemade flour tortillas. I have never been disappointed at this restaurant, and I've been quite a few times. It's very comfortable and casual. My go-to Tex-Mex restaurant when I'm in Cedar Park. Another thought: I sometimes judge a restaurant by their rice and beans. Both of these are great at Los Reyes! Thanks for reading.

Best Tex Mex in Cedar Park/Leander area! We happened upon it almost by accident. Unfortunately it's in a poor location with no curb appeal at all, and probably isn't well known because of that. However the food is superb!! Great "hole in the wall" find! Our go-to when we need a mexican fix and don't want to drive far.

$2 margaritas at happy hour....need I say more? Well, I will because this place is great. As you can see on my other reviews, we've recently moved to the area and are exploring the culinary delights of the Leander/Cedar Park area. OK, you can stop laughing now. Yes, Leander and Cedar Park have some really great places to eat. This is one of the places that will catch you off guard because, well, let's face it, it's not much to look at from the outside (or the inside - sorry guys, that's why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars) but that's not what counts. The important part is the food and it's awesome at Los Reyes. My mother used to say that you can always tell if a Mexican food restaurant is a good one by their beans and rice. If these 2 key ingredients are good, then the rest is always going to be good. She was absolutely right - they have the best beans and rice I've had in a long time. My hubby and I both had a combo dinner with chicken fajitas and carnitas. Although our order was incorrect (we ordered carne guisada, not carnitas - new server, day 2, still in training - bless his heart), we really enjoyed every part of the plate. The salsa was fantastic. The managers/owners stopped by several times to check on us and even though we said nothing about the mix up and went with the flow, she still gave us a card for a free lunch. Out of all of the Mexican restaurants that we've been too here (and we've been too a lot, thanks to my obsessed husband) this one is the most authentic and the flavors are the best. Great, great, authentic Tex-Mex, and fabulously potent, cheap margaritas. I'm a happy girl.

I simply love this place I discovered Los Reyes about 4 years ago while going to a uniform shop that is no longer there I would lkie to share a story about some out of town guests that were very impressed with the great customer services. They came from Florida for my child's high school graduation last year and we were deciding where to have breakfast my relatives use to live in Central Texas a few years ago anyway we decided on Los Reyes and all ordered breakfast burritos totaling 40 bucks one of my guest is allergic to cheese after we picked up our breakfast we noticed they all had cheese on them which we ask for them not to put on 2. After letting them know of the error not only did they fix it with much apologies they even offered to duplicate the order all of them . I am so impressed with them the food is great they are always so friendly and polite! If you like Mexican food and especially breakfast this is the spot. I just love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love this find! I've lived in the area for years and had no idea this place was here. WOW have I been missing some classic Tex Mex. I had the Summer plate a nice combo w/enchilada, tostada, rice, beans, guac. My wife had the green enchiladas, the little one had rice, beans and tortillas and the other child had chicken strips. Yup, a kids menu for those kids that won't cooperate. (they have burgers, grilled cheese too!) The enchilada were so tender and scrumptious! The only thing keeping it from my 5th star was the homemade tortillas. I'm partial to a fluffier thicker homemade tort. These are the thin type. Still good! We'll be back!

My wife and I went to Los Reyes on a whim one afternoon when we noticed it tucked away in the corner of the strip center. It was a very pleasant surprise. Our waitress was fast and helpful, the food arrived quickly enough, and in the meantime the salsa was very tasty, if not totally original. I ordered beef enchiladas and my wife ordered the fajita enchiladas. They were very good, some of the best we've had in the area. The refried beans were alright, but I particularly enjoyed the rice. I'm not a big Spanish rice fan, but this was very light and didn't clump together the way it often does. When we were ready to leave, the check was delivered promptly and we received the receipt with no delay. Since then, we've been back about a half dozen times, and have never had cause for complaint. It should be noted that we tend to go during times that they aren't as busy, but that's due to our often odd eating schedule more than a desire to avoid a rush.

I went to this restaurant based on the reviews here on Yelp and I wanted good Tex Mex local. This is the best Mexican food (Tex-Mex) I have had since I moved to Texas. Food is great (but the Tamales were not that great) Queso is good, don't know about mixed drinks as I dont drink alcohol. Otherwise this is my new go to place for Mexican in Cedar Park.

I'm 100% Mexican, so I am very picky with Mexican and Tex-Mex food! I just visited Los Reyes and found the place very welcoming. Not over-the top and not at all over done with a ton of "Mexican" stuff hanging everywhere. The service was VERY attentive, food came fast. I tried the rice-based "horchata" drink and found it surprisingly authentic! My husband had the hibiscus-flower drink, "jamaica" and was also very good, with the right tanginess and yet sweet. Our flautas were seasoned right, the rice was fluffy and tasty. I could not resist dessert, so we ordered flan AND tres leches cake. These desserts were good, but not exceptional. Overall, very friendly, clean and tasty -a great find amongst the many many tex-mex places!

You HAVE to try the deep fried avocado! I had it stuffed with chicken and it was superb. Who knew??

We have been eating here a few months now and have had mixed experiences. Breakfast is really done well...the chorizo is mouthwatering the homemade tortillas are almost perfect...margaritas are also pretty good. The problem is inconsistency with the dinners and lunches. It feels like the busier they are the better/fresher the food tastes. When it's slow there is kind of a "who cares" attitude and it shows in the food. Overall give it a try...there are not many other options in Cedar Park that rival this little mexican food joint.

Best Tex-Mex in the Northwest Austin area, and I've been here since Kennedy was chasing Marylin Monroe: Why the best? Possibly because there's no silly caucasians fumbling around in the kitchen (shut up, I'm white). The food is not prepared to impress anyone or their guests from the Hamptons. Traditional tastes, ingredients, and preparation is the order of the day. I, too, am a former Jardin Corona patron. Went there three nights ago, and they've outdone themselves in filth, noise, terrible service, and throw-it-on-the-plate-whatever food. Tables are shoved up so close to each other, you can't get up after being seated. I also noticed a table with two adults and six empty Mexican martini shakers, ordering yet a seventh. SO...Obese Cedar Park drunks helping the ambience...yay. At both Jardines, (they're's one in Leander) we've had issues with non-locking bathrooms. You have to stand or sit with your foot against the door. Who knows how long they've been broken... Los Reyes has cleaned up their act with uniformed waiters, an 8-page menu with every conceivable combination, attentive management, and big screen tv's that aren't perpetually on the freaking soccer game between North Ecuador and South Ecuador. (I like the novelas, though. And Sabado Gigante). The grilled shrimp/carne asada plate rocks. The seafood is trucked in daily, and the the steaks are tender. The flour tortillas are HANDMADE. My only problem with Los Reyes is the Jardin Corona people have found it. Every time we go it's more occupied. After 15-20 visits, we've never had a problem with anything except our own lousy spanish. Thanks for saving Mexican food in Cedar Park, mis amigos. Jardin, please turn into another Walgreens.

The fact that they have $0.99 margaritas all night on Wednesday nights gives them a 5 star but we weren't too impressed with the AMERICAN cheese they use in their cheese enchiladas. Charro beans were good but refried lacked flavor. Carne Guisada was awesome and homemade tortillas were divine! Rice was ok; I've had better, I've had worse. All in all, we enjoyed it, will probably be back...especially on Wednesday nights! :)

Los Reyes is pretty rockin', the employees are friendly and generally good service. It's also cleaner than some of the alternatives in the area.

Los Reyes is a favorite for Mexican food. The place is clean, the service is rapido, the portions are generous, the menu is extensive, and the prices are reasonable. I've only eaten breakfast there (three times), but the Machacado is authentico and the waiter's limited English forces me to practice my Spanish. Not easy to find, but locals know where it is.

A sign that the food is good is when you have to wait 30 min for a table. We had a party of 10 last night and other than the wait, the food and service was great! The Cedar Park area is getting alot of new Mexican restaurants so the environment is pretty competitive. Los Reyes seems up to the challenge.

Love this place for breakfast tacos. They are huge! We don't stray too much from your basics: tacos, burritos, enchiladas. My husband had pork chops once and we are pretty sure they had freezer burn. That's why we stick to the good stuff! Everything we had but that one meal is great. Salsa is deelish....close to perfect! We have been here over 40 times to eat in or grab tacos to-go. We love Los Reyes! The Anderson Mill location is great too!!

Good meat in the fajitas. Hole in the wall. Will go back. We did take out, which is destined to put the most unfavorable spin on any food. Fajitas were still good, and were good heated up.

Pretty authentic and good to pop into every now an then. Dishes are hit and miss and a bit bland. Service is good. Not too much AC on a hot day though, can get a bit warm.

Decided to venture away from our local fav @ Jardin Corona's and cross the street to Los Reyes. Frankly, with all of the hype, we were a bit disappointed. The charro beans were lacking in flavor and were merely luke warm. The Spanish rice was colorful, but truly lacked any pazazz-- very bland. My wife's cheese enchiladas were simply a block of cheese melted over tortillas-- yes, a queso flood! For the good-- fresh flour tortillas, taco, beef enchiladas and the service... Just average from a Tex-Mex fan who grew up in the Rio Grande Valley...

I love coming to this place rather than Jardin Corona, the only thing that has me coming back in the carne guisada and homemade tortillas. They can improve on their Fajitas and queso not my favorite.

I have been a fan of Jardin Del Rey...but look out.. you have a rival. And the special ingredient...HOMEMADE FLOUR TORTILLAS!!! I think any mexican food restaurant that has homemade flour tortillas deserves a yelp of kudos. I am biased though, I only eat here for breakfast. Their machacado is sabroso y excelente! The crispy dried beef and I get it a la mexicana which is w/ cebollas, tomate y serranos. My wife prefers the a la ranchera. I have also had their pork chop special for breakfast. I have yet to eat dinner here, but I am sure it is really good because of...Home Made flour tortillas. There is only one other restaurant that I know of that uses Home Made flour tortillas, and that's El Meson in south Austin. A

We stumbled across Los Reyes shortly after moving to Cedar Park about a year ago. It's your classic "hole in the wall" little Mexican joint... We love the salsa here, very flavorful. The food is always delicious. It's without a doubt our favorite Mexican food in the Austin area now. Highly recommend it.

We've visited Los Reyes a few more times, and I'd have to say that I don't enjoy it quite as much. They seem to be using American cheese A LOT now, and the food generally isn't as tasty as before. We'll go back, since it's so close, but probably not as often.

  • Mac C.

Los Reyes isn't bad. They have the potential to become 4 or 5 stars. The only Mexican restaurant I'd eat in the Cedar Park/Leander area. With real homemade tortillas and carne guisada, you can't go wrong.

Tried Los Reyes for the first time the other night and it was amazing. The top shelf margaritas are a little pricy but VERY good and BIG. The tacos are amazing, and the chips are thick and salsa is spicy. Worth the trip. don't let the strip center setting fool you.

  • Fernando B.

I like Los Reyes because they have good food. Their chips are made there and they bring out 2 different home made salsas. They have good refried beans and most of the entrees are good. Portions are good size, but not too large. It is unassuming and good. Go and visit them now.

I have only been to the Lake Creek 183 location in the Anderson Mill shopping center, their 2nd location. This is a good family restaurant. This place is down to earth. The food is simple and tasty, the menu has something for everybody. The salsa and chips are good and fresh. The food portions are big, and very filling. The best part is everything is cheap! The staff is friendly, and the service with the exception of one time was excellent. There is live music some nights, overall from the 1/2 dozen times I have been over the last year, no complaints, just satisfaction.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
